Evangelia Mavridou is a fine art photographer based in Greece whose work explores the emotional landscape between reality and memory. Self-taught, she creates atmospheric black-and-white images that begin with her own photographs and evolve through a painterly digital process, transforming familiar scenes into contemplative visual narratives. Drawn to solitude, light, silence, and the quiet presence of nature, her work invites viewers to experience places as emotional spaces rather than literal representations. Through abstraction, mood, and visual poetry, she seeks to evoke reflection and personal interpretation. Evangelia’s photographs have been selected for an upcoming traveling exhibition across five cities, and she continues to develop a distinctive artistic voice through projects that blur the boundaries between photography, memory, and imagination.
Project Statement
This series explores the fragile space where landscape becomes emotion. Rather than documenting places as they appear, these photographs transform familiar environments into interior landscapes shaped by memory, solitude, and longing.Together they form a visual poem about presence and absence, about the conversations we have with silence, and about the traces we leave in places that continue to remember us.
