Angel White

Angel White is a digital photographer originally from Birmingham, which is where their love of photography was sparked. However, moving to Bristol has since been a catalyst for keeping them inspired. They have recently been published in their own special edition of DOCU Magazine, who are known for their dedication to print. Angel has a distinct aversion to coloured images, embracing the visuals that black and white photography brings.

Project Statement

In the process of developing my style, my photographic eye has trained itself to disengage with the chaos of colour that I personally find to be overwhelming. This facilitates my additional intention for the world I curate through my photos to depict both agelessness and cohesion. I consciously attempt to avoid anything that could pinpoint my photos to a place in time. This allows me a sense of freedom in how I’d like my work to be perceived. It provides autonomy on whereabouts my photos exist and satiates my artistic need for ambiguity regarding the what the things in frame are conveying. I’m drawn to capturing the weird and sometimes unconventional reality that we live and dream in, or encompassing the ordinary as something of my own photographic universe – something I hope to be ever evolving.
