Andrea Otero

My name is Andrea Otero, based somewhere in the spanish coast, and I shoot 35mm film with my Canon AE-1, which has been with me for years. I once read a sentence that I deeply relate to, it was something like, “I live with a constant nostalgia for the present moment.” This is something I do unconsciously, and it often causes me a lot of anxiety. Through writing and photography, I’m able to cope with these thoughts. I photograph every detail of my daily life, paying conscious attention to the most mundane or easily overlooked moments, appreciating their beauty and keeping them forever. With photography, I don’t aim to capture what I see, but rather how I feel when I see it.
