Srikanth Ravada

I am a self-taught photographer based in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, India, with a background in Physics. My practice explores the relationships between people, place, landscape and traditional livelihoods through minimal compositions and documentary storytelling. In my ongoing project, *Lives Written by the Tide*, I document the everyday lives, knowledge and work of small-scale fishing communities along the coast of Bheemili. Through patient observation, I seek to understand how people live, work and adapt to the environments that shape their lives.

Lives Written by the Tide

Along the coast of Bheemili, Andhra Pradesh, the sea shapes the lives and livelihoods of small-scale fishing communities. Through this ongoing project, I document their daily work, inherited knowledge and relationship with an environment that remains unpredictable. Drawn to the quiet moments of waiting, movement and labour, I explore how people learn to live with the rhythms of the sea. Through mist, water, human figures and minimal compositions, I seek to portray not only the act of fishing, but also the experiences and knowledge that sustain a way of life closely tied to the ocean.
