Artem Khazov

I am a photographer originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, now based in the United States. I started my career in 2018, first focusing on action and extreme sports photography. Later I had the chance to work with African tribes, which changed my understanding of photography and led me toward documentary and street work.
Since then, I’ve been interested in real life and people — how they live, work, and connect with each other in different cultures. I try to capture honest, unposed moments and tell stories through simple, direct images that reflect everyday human experience.

Project Statement

Cambodia
This project was created during my travels across Cambodia. Through these photographs, I explore the country’s cultural heritage and daily life — from ancient temples and traditional rituals to New Year celebrations, local sports competitions, and the rhythm of everyday street life.
My goal was to capture the spirit of Cambodia as it is today: a place where history and modern life coexist, where tradition is still present in daily routines, and where people’s warmth and resilience shape the atmosphere of the country.
